I doubt they're doing it for it's merits, they're afraid a nuclear war is going to break out next door if yoocranes get into NATO.

Maybe you are right. But it would seem the fear has driven a rational act. Ideally the neocons won't kill who ever is supposed to deliver that message from the German side.
