Bed bugs really are nothing in that entire story, here's the deal:
A journalist on french TV asked a guest why there was that sort of bed bug epidemic in paris, and if it was linked to immigration, because people sleeping in the streets and coming from countries where hygiene standards aren't the same etc

Well guess what? In 24h he got sued by 2 or 3 french NGOs for hate speech, the gvt is reviewing his case and the equivalent of the FCC is on his ass now
True story. For just that, his fucking career has turned into a judicial nightmare in less than 24h, it gives you an idea of how tense, of how on the hedge everyone in the gvt-globohomo-zog camp is when it comes to "racism"/"hate speech" and immigration stuffs in france, elections are coming...
It's terrible, france is now officially at war with itself over nothing burgers lol, the current regime is one inch away from total nervous breakdown
And the worst part is that the said journalist relied on a serious study made in french airports, by french people working for actual french airports, demonstrating that there was a direct correlation between bed bugs in airports and migrants overstaying in transit zones

That being said, nothing happens for no reason at all. If anything the monarchy was guilty of mismanagement, running deficits like crazies, increasing tax pressure to no end on french people, including vassals, the bourgeoise, nobility... And also victim of bad luck to some extent, with consecutive famines that could maybe have been adverted eventually with better planing regarding reserves... Also, the last king inherited of the bill left by the previous ones, and wasn't really interested in being king, his hobby was locksmithing... Wars also, defeats, setbacks...
So an accumulation and combination of bad factors turned the whole country into a bankrupt powder keg essentially, a breeding ground for revolution
Pretty much like in russia, everything wasn't exactly rosy for the people prior to the 1917 revolution
