Iran was quite westernized under the Shah 45+ years ago. Iranian men and women wore western clothing. I didn't think the women enjoyed being thrown back into the dark ages.

Obama and Biden shipping billions in cash to Iran, begging Iran to accept deals that included the kitchen sink while demanding little or nothing of Iran. I can't say the optics show USA has any great influence over Iran.
IDK. The strange bedfellows in the ME are not well understood by me. Most of my reference is from what (((msm))) has broadcast over my lifetime, so low confidence that I have all the facts.
