I wonder how many nukes it would take to turn the entire place into a glossy parking lot.

Years ago I read a write up that analyzed the destructive power of the supposed nuclear capabilities of the world's arsenal. The analysis concluded that if you used the entire arsenal on Mount Everest's summit, you would only lower it's height by around 40 feet. The write up was rather well reasoned and highlighted the fact that while nuclear and atomic weapons appear extremely powerful, they fall vastly short of the amount of energy needed to level a mountain.

While glassing israel is different than levelling Mount Everest, I think they same limitations are found here as well. The Trinity test produced a relatively small amount of Trinitite glass at ground zero. That was of course a kiloton capacity blast and we have gone well beyond that capability since the 40s. The total current arsenal could maybe glass a mid-sized city but would fall way short of making israel a glass parking lot. Conventional bombs might be the better route here if you don't mind a sandbox instead of a glass parking lot. I'm willing to try either or both routes.

TL;DR - nukes are far less powerful than we've been led to believe by (((media)))

Last time I checked, Russia and China together share over 8K nukes.

Properly spread around, I'm sure that would do the job.

It may or may not make a glass parking lot, but it certainly would solve so many of the world's problems in just a short while.
