It's nice

It's kind of a shitter, but it has great sentimental value for several reasons.

Firstly, it was the 2nd watch I bought for myself when I started making good money. Secondly, I bought my Dad the same one a couple of years later and he got a lot of enjoyment out of it for almost 20 years and I now have that one, as well. Thirdly, I am from Queens, NY and Bulova was our local watch manufacturer for a little over 10 years. Lastly, my father owned one (before the one I bought him) and his father owned one.

What does a piece of art like that run you?

This one was $400 back when I bought it around 1999. You can get one on Ebay for probably $150 now. They're out of fashion. The two-tone is not real gold--it is just gold-colored metal and the movement is Japanese quartz. Also, by todays standards the watch case size is small-ish at roughly 38mm. If you're going to get a Bulova these days, I'd recommend that you saved your money and got one of the new Precisionists that they have. Those are pretty sweet. They're not Rolex or Omega, but they're a better-than-average watch. Really, at that price point ($1250?), I'd probably recommend getting a Ball or an older Corum or Omega. Still, there is nothing like buying new, so maybe stick with the Precisionist. Right now, Bronze finishes are kind of hot, but I would go with stainless steel because it has passed the test of time.

Here is mid-tier Precisionist, but again, this a quartz movement and these things are not going to last as long as a luxury automatic watch:

This is a modern Marine Star (mine is a Marine Star) and this particular model looks very vaguely like an Omega Speedmastwer Moonwatch:

If you really, really like mine, you can buy it used. The model number is 98B82: https://www.buya.com/Item/Details/BULOVA-Gent-s-Wristwatch-98B82-MARINE-STAR/lite/d623a93319c24ae7af47424548c84330

You say shitter, but I say it's my fav so far that you've posted.

Well, thanks. It is a quartz watch and quartz is cheap shit. The bracelet links are also hollow. I probably have 12 watches now and this is easily the shittiest if you know anything about watches.
