There is a Cathar Prophecy that was spoken by the last known Parfait, Guillaume Bélibaste, moments before he was interrogated and burnt at the stake in the Occitan region of Southern France, on August 21st at 8 am,1321. This prophecy spoke of how 'we shall return in 700 years when the laurel turns green again'.

2021 is the year that fulfills this prophecy.

is the evergreen shrub that is used for "bay leaves" in cooking. It is also what was used to fashion the of ancient Greece, a symbol of highest status. It is a symbol of triumph and is worn as a chaplet around the head, or as a garland around the neck. The symbol of the laurel wreath traces back to Greek mythology. Apollo is represented wearing a laurel wreath on his head, and wreaths were awarded to victors in athletic competitions, including the ancient Olympics.

Cathars considered the laurel to be the sacred symbol of pure love. When inquisitors executed Cathars, the martyrs said: ‘The laurel wilts. Pure love fades’. But they possessed holy faith and knew that one day the laurel would become green again.

The Cathar religion, also known as the Albigensian Heresy, was a dualism-based belief which thrived in Languedoc between the twelfth and thirteenth century, before becoming the target of persecution by the Catholic Church and finally being destroyed following the events of the Albigensian Crusade. The Cathar religion advocated austere living and rejected the sacraments of the Catholic Church as false, instead practicing only a single sacrament, the rite of Consolamentum. This ceremony, performed only shortly before death, was meant to free the soul from the bonds of the god of flesh and matter, which the Cathars considered evil, and deliver it to the realm of the god of spirit. They believed that if the rite was not performed, the soul was doomed to return to the material plane in another body to live another lifetime of suffering.

Here is the translated of Guillaume Bélibaste:

I am undone. Today, the task of Arnaud-Amaury and his ilk has been completed, or so they think. They believe me to be the last of the Perfecti, and their pride overtakes them, the fools. My final request before the inquisitor was permission to write a last confession, to repent my heresy. I shall do no such thing. Let the writing of this document be my last act of defiance.

The irony. I blame the Inquisition of pride when none is more guilty of this sin than I. I have erred much in my life, and strayed from the path of righteousness. My sin was greater than theirs, for I was supposed to be better. My hamlet was more obscene than their golden towers, for my only property should have been my faith. The meat of the goat I slaughtered was more evil than their stuffed peacocks, for I was not meant to taste the flesh of others, nor take a life of any kind. My love for my wife was the foulest of them all, for with it I created more flesh to serve the dark, when my goal was to rid the world of it.

It is right for me to die now, for I have taught others the words. They may perform the rite of Consolamentum and release their brothers and sisters of this mortal coil, this endless agony of feeding and fearing and fornicating. I am a simple man, and never one to coat my words, not when discussing something of this vital importance. The holy words cannot be written upon as foul a substance as velum, the body of evil itself. Instead, it shall be a conduit for those who seek to be free to find those who still keep faith. As long as the words live, mankind might still one day be released. I have no one to perform the holy rite on me, and so I am doomed to return. Perhaps in the light of a different era, I too shall be unbound.

Find them, find the words. Do not allow them to be lost. Forgive me.

You will find all kinds of slander about the Cathars when looking into them. In the same way Mary Magdalene is declared a prostitute, any person or group that the Church didn't like had these accusations thrown at them. This continues today in the zio-media, with accusations about people like JFK and Adolf Hitler were meth addicts. Here is an example:

It is well known that the Cathars were a religious sect of obscure origin which arose in the High Middle Ages and thrived in Southern France. They called themselves Cathars, taking their name from the Greek word for “pure”. They considered themselves to be perfect and so (somewhat immodestly) referred to themselves as Perfects. They were semi-Christian, but rejected traditional Christian sacraments. Instead, they invented their own distinctive sacrament, called the “consolamentum”. They were widely known to have practiced homosexuality and to have taught heretical doctrines. After a papal legate was murdered by a Cathar, the King of France launched a so-called “crusade” against them, using his “crusade” as a cover for a war of territorial acquisition. Simon de Montfort (later the hero of English parliamentary history) led the royal army to the South of France on behalf of the king. When asked how to distinguish Cathars from Catholics at the first military engagement at Béziers he famously answered “kill them all”. His so-called ‘crusaders’ went on to fight other Cathar armies. These Cathar armies built spectacular hill-top castles from which they fought the crusaders. The last Cathar was burned alive by the Inquisition in 1321, but their “puritan” ideas survived to fuel the Reformation.

Gotta love the Church accusing them of being faggots.

For many centuries the charge of homosexuality was a standard one applied to any group that the Catholic Church sought to demonise, and this seems to be the explanation for the charge against the Cathars. We have no evidence that Cathars were especially enthusiastic about homosexual practices. On the contrary, baptised Cathars were known for their asceticism. They believed in reincarnation and for them escape from the cycle of reincarnation required extraordinary and continuous purity. This is why baptised Cathars maintained strict celibacy and why they adopted other ascetic practices.

Some truth about the Cathars:

The distinction was the idea that there were two gods, one good and the other evil, and this was the critical difference at the centre of Cathar belief. Cathars believed that the good God was the creator of the spiritual realm, whereas the evil God was the creator of the physical world whom many Cathars identified as Satan.

This physical world they avoided and steered themselves away from at all costs was the world of money, power, control, ownership and religion. They knew to opt-out of a society that was humanmade and relied upon dependence and submission. Instead, they choose to live a simple life based on the gentle generosity they found in nature. Their Church was not a building, but a place. Instead, they would gather in meadows, woodlands and beside springs in the natural world - this is where they found their Holy Spirit.

Like myself they see this world as a trap or a prison:

Central to their pathway was the Consolamentum - a ritual that included the laying of hands, Book of Love and Holy Grail that invoked the infinite grace of the Holy Spirit upon the human soul. This spectacular downpouring of immense light and reconciliation reconditioned the soul into its original innocence - permanently.

This ritual was performed by those choosing to become a parfait (perfect one), or at the approach of death. The life of a parfait was open to men and women, as equality between the genders was a foundational stone of Cathar life.

Cathars believed the human spirit was an androgynous angel trapped in the material realm of the evil god, destined to be reincarnated until they achieved salvation through the consolamentum when they would return to the good god, in their original innocence.

This is supposedly an old Cathar prayer, which I slightly edited (it was translated from French after-all):

Holy One True Creator, just God of the good spirits, you who never mistake yourself, nor lie nor err, nor doubt for fear of taking our death in this world of the Alien god Yaldabaoth.

As we are not of this world and the world is not of us.

Give us to know what you know and love what you love.
