AtHome claims the tariffs did it, but I bet they were hurting before this - even if they didn't admit it. Just as a rising tide supposedly lifts all boats, the tide going out leaves all stranded.

I used to work at one of those, back when their name was still Garden Ridge. Shit company back then too. When we closed, the store was so wrecked and we were so understaffed that we were told half the time to just toss the misplaced goods in the garbage. So fucked. All of it was still perfectly sellable merchandise, but when you're closing a store at night the size of Walmart with just three people to clean up it's just impossible.

Yep, they rebranded some years ago to modernize their image. I guess sales were sucking.
