Math isn't mathing very well on this.

Last year, the Biden administration awarded Intel $7.9 billion in federal subsidies to support new or expanded factories in Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico and Ohio. Intel received $1 billion of that money from the federal CHIPS Act last year but much of the rest appears to be in limbo while the Trump administration re-evaluates the awards.

Oregon also awarded Intel $115 million in state funds. The timing of a planned expansion to its D1X research factory in Hillsboro is unclear and the state funds are subject to clawback if the expansion doesn’t hit hiring targets or boost state tax revenue.

That 8.1 billion and they have to ax 10,000+ people? Bait and switch going on here. Good thing I buy AMD now. 8700G on the way. Yeah integrated graphics. I don't need a GPU.

The factory in New Albangmee has barely cleared the ground. The prison busses are running again, so they must have started paying their contractors.
