That would make a great post (at least in my humble opinion) for POAL. I have yet to see any report on it anywhere.

I looked into visual crossing - it appears you can get the datasets for specific locations over the last 30 days time, one location at a time. Merging datasets and displaying it graphically would be a lot of work, at least for me. I know NOAA shows the data on real time and future projection animated maps ... but don't seem to offer a 30 day historic animated wind map (covering ~400 mile area) - that I can find.
