  1. There is no standard for what Gin has to be made from, smell like, or taste like. That being said - folks generally expect an anise/juniper "fresh" frangrance and taste.
  2. This is a wonderful experiment that I had for some reason never opened, and it was a limited run back in 2014-15. Kind of whiskey-like. Same charred oak barrels they use for bourbon, and similar effect (heavy notes).

But yeah I'd say if normally you avoid gin, seek it out
