I'm not much of a history buff, but i absolutely love reading about Mesopotamia for that exact reason. Such an interesting time period. Certainly more advanced than most people realise. Crazy that it get overlooked in schools in favor of ancient Greece and Egypt. I was 30 before i had even heard about the Sumerians...
