Magnetofection has been adapted to all types of nucleic acids (DNA, siRNA, dsRNA, shRNA, mRNA, ODN), non viral transfection systems (transfection reagents) and viruses. Cells are resistant to foreign nucleic acids, so they have to get tricky about how to insert the mRNA in to cells. They say that they are using some kind of lipid envelope, but it seems it might be using magnetofection methods.
