I only have third hand knowledge of jewish texts, so basically bits and pieces that from hundreds of commentators on the topic over the years. I have no authoritative advice on what to read on the subject.

For me, a key piece of insight was watching a documentary on youtube that was pbs produced or similar that went into the historical origins of jewish religious texts. On this documentary they had a scholar that is considered controversial by jews because he studied their texts at the "use of language layer". You know how you can tell who wrote something by the style that they write in? This scholars work takes into account history + those kinds of writing studies. Anyway, he was making the point that he believes a huge section of the jewish version of the old testament was written/re-written (in his estimation) by a historical figure in the past as a kind of political / social document because in the time of this jewish leader he had to deal with various kinds of social ills and issues like most politicians do. And he could tell that because of the huge stylistic change in how their old testament was written.

Once I clued into that and the whole Council of Nicea deciding which books belonged in the "chirstian" (read: jewish) bible, I clued into what was going on with all these religious texts. All of this is just the same political games and ancient tricksterism that is happening now with sjws and happened in scientology and mormonism and so on.

From there I bumped into various bits and bobs about jewish texts and my visual on the whole thing is not from a place of knowledge but from a place of "those people are tricksters by their very nature, its built into their culture and their religion" kind of thing. I treat judaism the same way I treat magicians, I don't learn how to do magic or card tricks, I just look for the cues for where they are scamming us.
