Not trying to be a smartass: How can a family have any say in signing off on cause of death? If someone died in a car crash and head their head chopped off, how can a signature from a family member change the cause of death? Is that just an Australia thing or does anybody know of this happening elsewhere?
You're speaking in a strawman here. Yes, car accident victims have been recorded as covid deaths, no they wouldn't want a family member to sign off on that. However for something that is plausible why wouldn't you say 'oh yeah your kid was 560 pounds and had congestive heart disease but don't you remember they had a little bit of a cough for the last 2 weeks ;)' here sign this paper our hospital really needs the money.
