Think of it like this. It isn't about the individual. It's about us, all of us. We as a people have to gain the spiritual knowledge to ascend in consciousness to the next level. There are beings that don't want that to happen and they try to keep us down at this level so they can have dominion over us. If we ascend to the next level they are left behind with nothing. God wants us to ascend but it is up to us.
