Sometimes sabotage can be a "little thing" with far-reaching consequences. The OSS used all kinds of tricks like this during WW2. (((Abie Hoffman))) wrote a book called "Monkey War" where (((he))) advocated doing "little bad things" such as packing parking meter coin slots with chewing gum or putting rotten eggs into a government building air conditioning system. (((he))) called it "Monkey War" as opposed to "Guerilla War". In this case I'll bet an affirmative action hire with an IQ of maybe 60 on a good day was responsible, but we will likely never know. Coincidence before all those generators are needed to run? (((Cohencidence))) more likely.

From which I suppose Edward Abbey drew his book, The Monkey Wrench Gang from.
