Interestingly, some studies have shown that wearing a 'tinfoil hat' would actually enhance the government-reserved radio signals that the supposed 'tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists' would want to block due to them believing they were being used for mind control. Also, truth-seeking conspiracy theorists around the time of the term's origination did not actually wear such tinfoil hats. Many have speculated that the denigrating term of 'tinfoil hat wearer' was a psyop to normalize the term for people who theorize and investigate conspiracies to discover the truth in order to depict them as being 'nuts' so that their words would be easily-dismissed by the masses.
