My theory is, aliens came here. They could not live here. So, they picked the most versatile land animal (apes) too genetically engineer with their DNA. The human experiment. At some point, other aliens came along and claimed this planet for themselves. They took it by force. These new aliens thrive on the suffering and death. They demand sacrifice, worship, ect, that is why things are the way they are. But it's just a theory.
