You already said what I was going to say: "science" is already ruined. When you read about "science" journals and how corrupt they are and the grant process, you know science is basically goal seeking at this point. Sure, some science is legit, but much of it is trying to pose as science but really isn't. AI, is totally misunderstood and is just another tool to bolster agendas.
