Jobs had nothing but disdain for the opinions of the shareholders. Makes sense because those assholes had him ousted in 1985 while John Sculley ran the company like Cook today. Jobs was selective on his board to pick people who would just rubber stamp his plans. Apple succeeded because of this.
Nintendo and Apple are on the same trajectory, and I’m thrilled to hear it. I’d rather they die than see them become the very thing their founders and greatest innovators (Yamauchi, Iwata and Arakawa for Nintendo, Jobs and Ive for Apple) despised.
