When private interests put money and resources into a war, it only prolongs the war and gets more people killed. A case in point -- the IRA terrorism in Northern Ireland. It was funded and supplied by wealthy Irish Catholic interests in the United States, which is why it dragged on so long. Take the money away, and these things die out very quickly.
