Western and Ukrainian media and politicians are spreading yet another fake story about the alleged killing of civilians by the Russian military in the Kiev city of Bucha. Moscow called what is happening a full-fledged military information war against Russia.
The West began to replicate a new wave of fakes about alleged "Russian atrocities" in Ukraine. In particular, the reports refer to the town of Bucha, a district center in the Kiev region.
A number of foreign outlets, including Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and the BBC Russian Service, early Sunday morning synchronously issued notes about Bucha, from which Russian troops withdrew back on March 30, the Telegram channel Readovka writes.
Correspondents from Western media spoke with locals and filmed the destruction left after Russian troops fought with the AFU and the National Security Forces. As they walked down the street, they saw corpses lying on the road. The mayor of the city, Anatoly Fedoruk, told reporters that they had allegedly "killed by the hundreds.
The Western press and TV were full of headlines about "war crimes by the Russian military": civilians with their hands tied in mass graves, murders, and torture. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of Ukraine's presidential office, also published a photo from Bucha and called on the West to impose new sanctions against Russia. "The Kiev region. Hell of the XXI century. The bodies of executed men and women with their hands tied. The worst crimes of Nazism again in Europe. This was deliberately done by Russia. Impose an embargo on energy resources, close the ports. Stop the killing now!" - Podolyak stated.
The news was picked up by the head of the British Foreign Office Liz Truss. "Outraged by the atrocities in Bucha and other cities in Ukraine. Reports of Russian troops attacking innocent civilians are disgusting. The UK is working with allies to gather evidence and support an investigation into war crimes. Those responsible will be brought to justice," she wrote on Twitter.
Notes about Bucha appeared in several foreign publications at once, which looks like a planned media campaign. Moreover, given that the Russian Armed Forces left the city on March 30, it is unclear why the footage was published four days later, writes the Telegram channel "War on Fakes.
"The video of the bodies is perplexing... At the 30th second in the rear-view mirror a "corpse" sits down. The bodies in the video seem to have been deliberately arranged for the sake of creating a more dramatic picture. This is clearly visible if you play the video at a speed of 0.25 of normal," the report says.
The channel points out that after the Russian troops withdrew from Bucha, the AFU subjected the city to artillery fire. Which could also have resulted in civilian casualties.
"The mass grave" with the bodies was made by the AFU military, because more than a month ago they blockaded the city by blowing up the bridge near Irpen, and the mayor confirmed the street battles. There were also civilian casualties at that time.
The comments under the YouTube video also show that ordinary users, including English-speaking ones, are far from believing the reality of the propaganda video.
Viewers wonder why the Russians have not removed evidence of their alleged atrocities. Why are the corpses lying neatly along the edges of the road - staggered at equal intervals?
"The Walking Dead, Season 12", "The 95th Quarter lies after the corporate party", "Why can't they pick up normal actors in a country where the president is a clown and an actor. The more so the whole role is to play a dead man", "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the actors!" other comments read.
Telegram channel Yulia Vityazeva, in its turn, recalled how on March 31 the joyful mayor of Bucha reported that the settlement was "liberated" from the Russian military, and he did not speak about any dead bodies on the roads and horrible destruction.
Against the backdrop of all this happening, the head of the working group on countering the spread of false information, public control and security on the Internet Alexander Malkevich reminded: the West is carrying out full-fledged military and information attacks against Russia.
"We must understand that the line of contact now is not in Donbass, it is in London and Washington. And it is the result of an information war conducted by the West against Russia. A real war, which is conducted by all available means and, as they say, for a long time", - said the expert.
He warned that after the mass media, as well as Ukrainian and Western politicians, "Western-controlled international institutions - pocket international pseudo courts, its own network of influence in the UN General Assembly, etc.," Malkevich pointed out.
Russia launched a military special operation in Ukraine on February 24. Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that Moscow's plans did not include occupation of Ukrainian territories, the aim was to denacify and demilitarize the country. Also, the Kiev authorities were put forward a number of political conditions - legislative consolidation of Ukraine's non-bloc status with a complete ban on the placement of NATO military bases and shock weapons systems on its territory, trial of Nazi criminals who have committed crimes against citizens of Ukraine and Donbass in recent years, recognition of Crimea as Russian and the DNR and LNR as independent states.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian troops planned to attack Donbass in March 2022. The military stressed that the special operation carried out by the Russian military preempted and disrupted a large-scale offensive of the Ukrainian strike groups against the LNR and DNR.
