I recall earlier this year Russia supposedly sent peaceful surrender requests to the cities in Ukraine before each attack. Given their stated mission is to stop the killing of Russians and ethnically related people in Ukraine since 2014, Russia has likely sent pleas for sheltered surrender to them during this conflict.

Kinda like pre warII when Germany invaded Poland to protect their former populations from being killed by the polish/communists.
Of course the Soviets did the same thing but surprisingly England only cared that Germany invaded.
