I 'member in the old decade when bing first came out there was an invitation to take a blind survey challenge and compare bing search to google search and that I would not be able to tell the difference or bing would be better. Bing sucked so bad and only gave me cultivated search results that my survey response was that google was better, the so-called blind survey was so obviously bing results vs. google results that I knew which was which. And we all know how bad google sucks with its guided search results and burying info you really want to get at.
