It's ok to have a go-to but not good to putt everything in one place. All your links could go down all at once.

If an image is on catbox, it's on catbox. If I see a catbox link I know it will load that image on the catbox site.
With pic8 it just redirects to that image on another host and I have no idea what host it is before clicking on the link.

I copy the pic8 image link if I want to see it and paste it on catbox to get a catbox link for it. If the image is save-worthy, I share the catbox link in the thread for others if they prefer it.
I block certain hosts and domains for a reason (usually unsafe or privacy invasion and data collection when you look at the scripts the sites run) and I'm not clicking on any pic8 link as I can't be sure what site it will redirect to, which is bullshit. How can anyone be ok with using pic8 knowing they will get shunted to some other site that may be unsafe and untrusted or actively attacking your privacy and gathering data on you?
I had also created a thread and included a photo in the header that was on catbox and it refused to accept my catbox link and create my thread unless I copied the image to pic8 and used that link. Fuck that. I did it that one time and now that I know how they're going to be about this, I'm not making any more threads if that is how dictatorial this site will be. Yeah, some people can make threads using a catbox link with no issue and it's supposedly just some temporary error, but catbox links within posts load perfectly fine all the time and never have an error, so why are the errors only happening when the catbox image is used as a submission header? That's a site issue as an image on pic8 never has that issue when making a thread, only catbox. Fuck that.
