Much truth here. To me though, Voat just got overwhelmed, growing too quickly by taking in every refugee that Reddit kicked out ... most all at once. So it went from a good group of folks where everyone knew everyone to a whole bunch of crazies wanting to stake a claim to their own piece of Voat's pie.

Good analogy. It seemed like every two weeks to a month Reddit cut another group of subs and the mass, steady exodus did Voat in. Then the so called 'power' users of Reddit jumped in and tried to take over spreading their same crap there. It turned the place upside down.
