Pretty much how reddit went downhill; admins pressuring mods to take certain censorious actions on their behalf to make site more marketable.

From what I can gather from that shitstorm:

  1. (((someone))) doesn't like the anon settings on QRV, I guess one of the main Q-anon subs, because SBBH is posting porn and gore
  2. (((someone))) complains to putt
  3. Putt tells moderator(s?) in a PM to change their subverse settings to be non-anon
  4. Mod says "da fuq?" and posts the PMs
  5. Putt gets angry that PMs were posted

First, despite our own feelings on anon subs, they are a feature of Voat. Putt could code them out if he wanted. But he doesn't, he is here applying pressure to use or not use a feature as he sees fit.

Second, posting of PMs (another Voat feature) is not new, it happened on reddit even, and in the interest of transparency I would expect to see the admins' communications posted when it is so clearly out of line. So his outrage is feigned.

Agree with all of what you said. I hated the anon subs ... but they exist and you're right, Putt could kill them any time, yet hasn't. This sounds like a 'censoring' thing more than anything else.
