There has definitely grown a 'cult of Putt' on voat, you basically can't criticize him anymore without getting massively downvoat brigaded, and apparently now banned.

I think I got on his shit list back when I criticized his handling of the and situation. Since then I've been targeted constantly by known spammer and voat manipulator theoldones who I suspect had some influence over Putt in this banwave.

I used to talk shit to Putt, and it was mostly all fun and games, but I occasionally gave him some serious shit because of a sincere lack of transparency with regard to certain issues (who the fuck is the angel investor, why has atko mostly disappeared, how is Voat staying afloat, ect).

Now it seems as though any criticism of Putt is totally taboo. Fucking cult of peraonality, know what I mean?

The saddest thing about this all the voaters cheering the move on, I saw one comment saying that everyone banned was a pedo. I was never a high profile user, so it's not surprising that nobody noticed, but it's clear that most if not all who were banned were real goats and not fucking pedos

I have a feeling that theoldones had at least some influence over Putt in this banwave, he's long since slandered anyone who disagreed with him claiming they're a pedophile, and because they're now a pedo (according to his word) they should be banned, if you recognized this as the insanity it was then you too go on the pedo list. Pretty Ironic since theoldones has been open about his use of voat brigading and manipulation but he wasn't banned.

Apparently I got on Putt's shit list for calling theoldones out on his bullshit during the /v/gaming drama, since then he's likely been looking for an excuse to ban me.

The worst part of this ban for "voat manipulation" is that I can't even respond to the accusation to clear my name, it's infuriating being falsely accused and you can't even respond to the accusation because voat is invite-only right now (or it's an IP ban), And even when some wary goats are casting doubt on this banwave Putt has the copeput of "i can't explain what I'm baning people for because then people could just not do it to avoid being banned, fuck transparency durrrr" when I sen't him a PM (well actually replying to a old PM conversation between us because I can't send out PMs anyone) asking what I was banned for, and to define what rule I broke I just got a 1 sentence dismissal, "come on dude" and then he apparently blocked me.

Putt is into talking about destroyers. I think he is one himself. Of his own site. But if he isn't careful here the userbase are liable to finish the job. This fracas has mass exodus potential - and Voat isn't that big to begin with.

I don't quite think that's it. I think that what you're seeing more as naïvety, is better described as ineptitude. I'm considering doing a broader write up of this. Given a choice to take the high road or the low road in these types of situations, a lot of times he simply made an incorrect choice.

He was absentee for years, and doesn't think that was an issue. Putt has never come to terms with his inadequacy as a decisionmaker and leader, despite great coding ability. Atko had the community pulse down.

Remember when Putt made that post about some agency contacting him?

It happened around the exact same time that folks from 8ch were posting videos of friendly FBI visits.

I expect Putt received a similar visit and is under some pressure to reign certain behaviors in.

I'm starting to think the "voat manipulation" bans were just cover for government censorship of people saying inconvenient things, he has the copeout answer of "well i can't explain why they were banned or they'd get around it haha" as the ultimate shield against criticism for zero transparency.

Put has been under control of the reddit trannies for a while. They get to harass people and if you do something back you get banned. Voat has become such a sad place. I was one of the last few who could spot shills and identify them. It will become a second reddit now.

Indeed. I watched as Reddit started its slide down the slippery slope, and that's why I fought aggressively against the witch hunts on Voat. Last shill I busted was beastofbalthazar (outed himself as supporting Putt doxxing hated users and banning VPNs).
