Farming SCP isn't enough though. They would want CCP.

Maybe it could be a farm ploy if the top comment and one below it are involved. It would make sense and be a pretty smart scheme if the guy made the OP with his alt, agreed on the account he wanted to boost CCP of, then wrote something salty and liberal in a reply arguing with himself. When Voat sees that 2nd reply they want to pile onto that liberal account with downvotes, and many will upvote that other comment just to make sure mr. salty liberal knows who has won the argument.

The timing confirms this, as top comment is the first reply, and you would expect the CCP farmer to reply to his own thread pretty quickly to milk that top comment position. Only problem is, OP is the new account here and 1st reply is an older account with enough CCP to downvoat. That makes me think there's no farming scheme here because you'd really only want to upvote farm an account that didn't have enough CCP to manipulate Voat, right? Why would you want to farm CCP on an account that already has 2k CCP? When you get to 100 CCP, time to move on to a new account so you can have as many as possible for vote manipulation.

edit: where's my detective badge?

I've always noticed that. An obvious shill posts and obvious comment, and the accounts all pile on the bait.

JohnCStevenson got caught doing this red-handed. Replied "gas yourself kike" to one of his own comments but forgot to switch to his alt first.

It's definitely a tactic, but I still don't think it's being employed in this case.
