I think some similar websites (won't namedrop out of respect to Poal) have just banned flat earth subs over the last few days, since there's been an obvious uptick in spamming that shit. You're probably right. There's also this secondary effect of... driving sane people to become insane, something like that. They end up isolating themselves from family and burning all bridges as they are consumed by their flat earth obsession. This happens with nonsense conspiracies all the time (and real ones, such as the JQ- how many people have been disowned over being actually red pilled?), but it seems to happen more consistently and more *devastatingly* with flat earth lunatics. I wonder why? I'm fascinated by the psychology of flat earth people. A lot of them share this desire to feel important or like their existence has meaning; they'll say things like "Well, we live on a flat plane enclosed in half a globe, because God made us and our planet to be special". What is so maddening, so vexing about the shape of the earth? Is it because of how demonstrably false it is, and people who choose to believe in flat earth shit have to engage in *constant and repetitive* cognitive dissonance over a long, long period of time where they finally lose all grasp on reality?
