but some of them will do anything to keep their kids out of jail.
Except raise them right.
;-)
My mom was of the tough-love mindset. (Hence my comment about school.) It's raining? Here's an umbrella. You have a test tomorrow? Oh well, I guess you have to stay in and study instead of playing with your friends...
Actions have consequences, which in a way sums up the problems with black America. Black mothers (because black fathers are rare) don't teach their kids consequences so they run wild. They fuck everything that moves without birth control and make more black babies that will never know a father. They lie, cheat, steal, and kill not thinking about what might happen and they end up in the system or dead. Society at large is so preoccupied about not wanting to sound racist that they make excuses for all of this, blame it on systemic racism or poverty instead of addressing the problems. Nothing will change until we hold the black community responsible for their actions.
And the black community at large needs to lead the charge on this, but the black man is the black mans worst enemy. The successful black people are so worried about being called an Uncle Tom that they just turn their backs when they get out, or at most donate to the organizations that do nothing but blame white people for their problems.
Your mom raised you right, as did my parents. I may be a fuck up, but I blame nobody but myself.
