The usual result of seized brakes on a train is a flat ground wheel. Derailment is usually only possible around bends in these situations. This is a straight away on a bridge. At least as I've seen. The tons of force pulling and behind the car generally means a single car's brakes have no impact except for a fire localized to that car's wheels.

I'll search another computer. I thought I had saved a substack article covering some of this, but not found anything. In general I've not been saving related content (some exceptions).
