I hope all is well for you today. I had a lot of flickering and an outage only once for a brief period.
It seemed that after I made this post, the storm seemed to kind of...break up and not be so bad, and it even seemed to split apart with the bad stuff going around me.
In the end it was just a normal thunderstorm for me and was far less than the storm we had the other day where there was hail, more and longer outages, flooding and many more limbs/trees down.
It was on at 4PM, well in advance of their 11PM estimate. So I'm happy, I didn't lose anything in the freezer. It didn't go off during the storm, it was during the morning rush so I assume someone took out a pole(s) in a spectacular manner.
But yeah, it was kind of a fierce storm there for a while, which I don't mind.
Here's the thing about the power going off - when AEP got smacked for not maintaining lines some years back, and had to go around and trim and maintain - we didn't have an outage for about 3 years. Then it started up again, surprise.
Unbelievable, it's out again. It's a hazy, light breeze day. What the fuck are these people doing?
It is just the same for me with just a nice breeze, overcast and quite pleasant. My sister has been having power loss much more North, but I have been ok today with no power loss...yet.
I would guess the unjustified power loss to you is likely the result of the unmaintained infrastructure you referenced combining with inept diversity hires "fixing" things. I hope you get it back and on for good soon.
It came on about 5PM, as I was cleaning up some limbs that had fallen. I have to wonder if yesterday's "fix" didn't.
