Hi, i have a problem with my PC, just wondering if anyone here could help. I am testing my power supply with a multi meter pin 20 on the manual says the volts should be -5 volts, i am getting a +5 volts could this be the cause of my problems?. Pin 14 says -12 volts which does read -12 volts on the meter so - volts is a valid reading.

There are some PSU's out there that don't output -5v. They just don't, for whatever reason they engineered it that way for.

I know this because I have ran into a few of them.. they're useless to me because most sound cards require -5v to work properly.
