Yes, and they you need to implement memory bank switching and other shit. Now if this was done when the C64 was hot it could have changed things a lot.

So I made awhile back... It has both REU type RAM and GEORam.

Oh yeah, FPGAs are great. So many cool FPGA retro systems out there. I build a MiSTer FPGA a few years ago and it covers all my retro system needs nicely.

I haven't even tried any of the other cores, I've just been using it on my breadbox C64 for the RAM, acceleration, monitor, disk drive emulator, etc.. This thing does a helluva lot of shit, I love it.

Same people also make an ethernet adapter that plugs into cartridge port. I bought one of those a long time ago, too. Turns out that the ethernet board plugs into the Turbo Chameleon board as a daughterboard, and it all fits into the cartridge. Didn't realize that until I seen a video sometime later, and remembered I already had one of those ethernet boards laying around somewhere.
