In 2001, I purchased my first digital camera, a Sony Mavica CD-300. Along the way, I added pretty much every accessory I could get - the special Sony wide lens, the external chargers, the adapters, and whatnot.

I don't use it a whole lot these days, but it still took pretty damn nice pictures for the age. I attribute that to a large lens compared to the small pixel count.

Got it out last weekend, took a couple of pictures. They wrote to the CD, but it seemed...slow. Then, "Drive error."

Crap. The CD doesn't spin anymore. RIP old friend, we had many good times together.

Yeah, they were out at the same time as this one, and shortly before. I had one of those on loan from a friend for a while.

They took remarkably good pictures, and it helped me sell a lot of components on eBay that financed this unit.
