It's super easy to get bulk components from China now, and wasn't difficult when their brick n mortar stores closed. For example, those packs of 20 LEDs they sold for $1.99. They were all different assortments (barrel handfuls) but the last ones I bought (eBay leftovers and places like the picture) they were all identical assortments telling me that they'd been packed in China from a specific bulk purchase.
