Interesting looking at the build. Resistors soldered to each other. LOL. You'd never see this today even with point to point wiring. I can imagine the workers assembling this thing.

That wasn't all that uncommon, especially if a production line change had to be made or some oddball value was needed, it's the antique equivalent of white wires on a PCB. That being said, Philco had a certain reputation for being cheap.
