The orange-red handle one dates to...don't know, probably 1960s or 1970s. It was a discard when a former employer closed, it probably was bought by the owner while in college. The black handle one I purchased new in 1996.

Na nigga i got you, this mofo uses no blades, just pressure on the seams. It creates open cans you can pop the tops back on and hide shit in. It works on the bottom of shaving cream cans as well. I know a thing or jew about a thing or jew. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CJQ73W/

nah i'm just saying that can openers good for making hideaways. I've used it on the bottom of empty butane cans as well. those are good b/c they already feel like they weigh nothing full. If you just wanna open a can that's cool. I'd just stab a k-bar in the top twice and bend the tabs on the can

Ah, I see. That would be an interesting use for one of those.

My parents would open the can of pet milk they used as coffee creamer with a knife. It used to annoy me as a little kid...we didn't even have a can opener at times...

Pet milk is disgusting btw.

I've had mine about 30 years, too. They sure don't make 'em like they used to.
