It's a Knight Regenerative receiver - regenerative meaning the RF at the front is fed back through the amp stage before it to increase the level before it's detected (that is, the audio is stripped off so you can hear it.) Kind of an old old way of doing it, this was more of a novelty radio than a serious device. It would have given you an understanding of basic radio, and it is kind of cool.
I plugged it in and got some noise, but that's it. Will pull it apart soon and check it out.
