I disable the track pads on my laptops and only ever use a mouse.
Yeah I can't do it long-term without an independent mouse
I keep a spare mouse on me whenever I have my laptop (in addition to my mouse). When I see someone using their track pad, especially if it is someone looking up info for me, I don't say anything, I just pull out the mouse and plug it in.
Yeah trackpad is mostly the poor man's mouse, it's a poor alternative to a mouse, not a replacement, it's in case you have no mouse or forgot it you still have something to make things work. You have the touch screen also as alternative on some laptops, it's still kind of lame but in a different way
You'd think they'd have figured out a mouse that folds flat and can pop in/out of where the trackpad is
