I assume it all depends on what it is filtering. how far can I walk using one before It gets too poisonous. what about filter exposure? what sort of value do used filters have? is there any problem buying expired filters?

Carbon filters can filter alot. It depends on usage, what your filtering and how big the filter is. So buy one and test it out
