Socialism is not communism.

Communism prohibits the free market. All goods are theoretically owned by the state. All goods are produced for and distributed by the state. This is what is described by "made by the government".

A communist state IS socialist. A socialist state IS NOT necessarily communist. A law eliminating the stock market and turning over corporate ownership to the workers in that company would be socialist but not communist. UBI would be socialist but not communist.

If you're going to be talking about these things learn the difference.
