Interesting conspiracy theory, but it has some major flaws. Farmland is used to grow animal feed, among other things. And it's usually more efficient when people eat crops directly than if it's fed to animals first (though the former may induce protein deficiencies). So prices will go down if people reduce their meat consumption. So it's in Gates' financial interest to keep people eating meat, and if possible increase their meat consumption.
