He is piling his money into land because the money is going to be worthless soon, whereas land is basically forever. Blackrock/Vanguard et al are all doing the same.
It's interesting that Gates is buying farmland, though, instead of city highrises and golf courses. I'm sure he's up to something shifty. Maybe he and his new world order buddies plan to shut down farming and starve people to death, after the economy collapses.
