Listen, how are they supposed to achieve 24/7 mass surveillance if all what's required to circumvent it is to remove the battery?

Don’t worry, 5G beacons are coming soon.

5g?

It's designed to fry your balls during commute

The sub acts like a faraday cage forcing your phone maximize the signal's force... And phone is in your pocket, right next to your balls...

And then you get vacced against corona and that's double frying for your balls, and your brain. And then you give all you have for a cancer treatment that doesn't work anyway but that's yet another story

People want replaceable batteries on waterproof devices.

And . Just requires a few millimeters of extra thickness that everyone who voted there would happily take.

The problem is they also want them cheap, and crApple’s shareholders and those who follow their design choices aren’t gonna give up their comfortable margins.

I see, but the most expensive components of a mobile phone are the internal parts (GPU, CPU, Display).

The Galaxy S5 was not much more expensive than other flagship phones released at a similar time, despite having a rubber band isolation in conjunction to replaceable battery.

I guess what they want is users to keep buying new phones.

Isn’t Europe pushing for this by law?

Yes, and I also

I've literally been screaming for replaceable batteries since the advent of the first iPhone. The main issue is that batteries in mobile devices seeing heavy usage typically die in 2-3 years. This isn't a problem if you replace your handset every 24 months which is typically the norm, but when you try using a device for longer, such as in my case using an Nvidia Tegra K1 tablet daily including mobile gaming burning my battery up, my first one had a battery failure in 20 months and needed a replacement as I couldn't simply swap the battery out.

Another thing I wish is that I could open it to add more ram and increase it from 2 gb to 4 gb as loading always grinds down to a halt as it keeps running out of ram until I run a speedboost app.

I don't want a new tablet as the Tegra K1 would be perfect if it just had more ram, even 3 gb. When the battery in my current one breaks I'll have to replace it then as it's now out of warranty.

Thanks for the comment! Agreed.

The Fairphone 2 is a more modular device.

Tbh I don't use my phone for much more than a phone and maps because a tablet does everything else better.

I'll be looking at getting a Windows 10 tablet with BT keyboard next for much better in bed entertainment than my current android tablet.
