This was a useful article I thought to copy/paste ahead of the voat shut down. Hopefully this information is both still relevant nad useful to you all

Linux:

Open terminal

type sudo nano /etc/hosts and press enter

add

0.0.0.0 google-analytics.com 0.0.0.0 www.google-analytics.com 0.0.0.0 ssl.google-analytics.com

press ctrl + X

type y and enter to save


For winfags;

Press the Windows key.

Type Notepad in the search field.

In the search results, right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator.

From Notepad, open the following file: c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.

Make the necessary changes to the file.

Click File > Save to save your changes

There is a more simple way. It's enough to install any cookie blocking app on your browser. I am using Disconnect app that always blocks Google cookies among others.
