Thanks for the info. I pay $90 Aus a month for unlimited. Can not see the benefit for what they outlaid.

It immediately supersedes the NBN skymuster satellites / fixed wireless, that serve every aussie outside a major city.

Thats 5 billion of taxpayers money down the drain.

Plus you get a ping lower than 1000ms, so you can game in the outback now with a <50ms ping.

I'm in a rural area and am stuck using a hotspot with shitty coverage for Internet. On good days I can play games like PUBG or stream movies. On bad days. I might be able to view a web page if it doesn't time out first. I've been waiting for Starlink for a year now. Here, if you don't live in a city, it isn't economically feasible for companies to provide you with service. The best cable in the area stops a half mile from my house and they won't consider extending it.

Rural areas across North America and Europe do not have that option. Usually we will have one local company serving up internet, sometimes on old as hell lines.

Across the US in rural areas or small towns, DSL lines from the 90s are still the only option. I have a cousin in one of these areas paying $20 USD a month for 6mbps down and 256kbps up.

I'm less than 5 miles from the center of town and DSL isn't even an option. I rely on a spotty hotspot signal.

You don't even have to go that far out to get to areas like that. I was looking at a house 30 min away from a major city and the only internet available was dsl or satellite.
