I think the only company that had cracked some part of Apple's phone was an Israeli company, I don't remember the story. But yes, backdoors are never a good idea. This isn't going to do anything about pedos though, this is just for teenagers sending dick pictures, but like the article says, it's got a lot of future potential for state monitoring.
