Yeah, seriously. He could know what it is, not know what it is, know exactly what it is and it’s dangerous, know exactly what it is and nothing, it could be someone else’s, it could be his, it could be human, it could be alien, no matter what this thing is he’s going to give the exact same response.
It’s like a test.
Whatever someone reads into his answer is what they would have wanted to hope this was all along. It’s funny that as a society becomes more and more polarized every day people more intensely focus on exactly what they want to hear and nothing else. And it’s getting worse every day. Everybody sees the exact same news stories and interprets it in the way they want to without any critical thinking whatsoever, I don’t care what their political alignments are, their beliefs system, doesn’t matter.
We always used to do this to some extent but now it’s worse than ever because we can literally pick and choose what news we want to read or what interpretation of every story we want to read. And everyone claims everyone else has the wrong source.
I mean we can mock people who “trust the science”, and we should, but I’ll be damned if we don’t - five minutes later - have our own stories about how this doctor agrees with us, or that doctor agrees with us, and they have credibility because they’re doctors!
What about all the doctors we just told everyone else to ignore? I mean we made fun of them for trusting them just because they were doctors. But the magic recipe is that they are doctors, AND they agree with us.
Meanwhile each side thinks they’re the only ones that trust the real science and at the other side is dumb for believing dumb doctors.
It wouldn’t be so frustrating if both sides weren’t so convinced that they’re different from the other.
The world has become gay.
